Both columns and cylinders are shifted on one side thereby freeing the other side. It is an non-independent system, i.e. car parked on level one requires the car parked on ground level to be moved.

First the car to be parked above ground level is parked using the upper platform.
It is lifted up to a height where with the help of an automatic stop, the platform gets fixed by a mechanical lock to avoid unintentional lowering.
Then the second car is parked on the floor surface.
The operating device is usually located at a side convenient to the user along with the operation instructions
